We are looking for someone with experience within the Energy and/or Utilities sector with knowledge of UK energy industry, Smart Metering, Smart Grid, Asset Management, Field Services, Resource Planning. 

• oach, mentor, and develop Systems Analysts and Developers in line with departmental capability planning.
• upport the pre-sales technical activities including engagement with customers.
• Document and manage system requirements and undertake system analysis and design.
• Key to the role is the ability to analyse business requirements and to ensure that system requirements are captured accurately to provide a technical solution which will adhere to the business objectives.

Technical landscape and experience:

• Liaise with business and customers to understand their requirements. Review the business requirements and business processes. Will focus on the more complex areas of the solution where multiple Systems Analysts are working on a project.
• Effective elicitation, documentation, and management of system requirements, via clearly written documents to ensure that system requirements are accurately documented in a manner that is suitable for multi-disciplined audience, and the solutions provided are aligned to business and customer objectives.
• Support the full IT delivery team by providing expert advice and guidance on the solution including in-depth knowledge of the business and system operations. Provide guidance for documentation of other Systems Analysts.
• Appreciation of Cost Benefit Analysis and Cost Benefit Realisation, where applicable, to ensure that the value of delivery is known.
• Management of all stakeholders and technical experts including Senior Management to ensure that all relevant parties contribute to and are communicated with throughout the systems analysis and design process. 
• Identification of risk and ability to manage and mitigate, within the remit of the role, are important to ensure that appropriate actions can be taken.
• Produce system requirements (functional and non-functional) and functional specification and / or use cases. Create system and user interface specifications. Review and recommend improvements for other Systems Analysts documentation.
• Create use case diagrams and descriptions, activity, class, and sequence diagrams. Review and recommend improvements for other Systems Analysts documentation.
• Review test scenarios and evidence. Support test phase by answering test queries and analyse problems raised during testing.
• Experience of presenting the technical solution and design to senior internal and external audiences
• Work closely with Solution Architects to resolve design issues and to support the technical design and technical roadmap.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure that solutions are produced in accordance with the solution specifications. Provide support for developers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform data analysis, system analysis, integration definition, and database design activities.
• Be a recognised expert within own area of specialism and actively engage in defining improvement, advancement, and direction of system analysis disciplines within the organisation.
• Investigate the implication of systems changes, included preferred solution and alternatives, and provide estimates. Provide solutions for legacy systems and off the shelf products.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds

You will be an experienced IT Analyst and working knowledge of Enterprise analytical method, with a background in  data migration - strategy, rules and mapping, transformations and cleansing of data. This can include data take on and data extraction.

Experience of working the full project life cycle with proven ability to deliver in both Agile and Waterfall projects and a good knowledge of SQL, middleware and cloud-based solution is essential.
