Job Description

Siemens Government Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer with Cloud/Office 365 expertise. The ideal candidate will have expertise in application migrations to Azure/AWS and experience with Enterprise-scale architecture, NIST security controls, automation/orchestration, and the enforcement of governance policies

In this highly visible and critical role, you will be leading complex cloud migrations engagements, help modernize existing Infrastructure and assist with SGT’s hosted services offerings. You will also interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure security, privacy, and compliance requirements are addressed through security tools, policies, and technologies.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, operability, security, and interoperability of enterprise systems including, Data storage, replication, backup, and recovery
  • Lead our pending migration from on premise architecture to Office 365 GCC high cloud platform and manage cloud-based infrastructure as it is rolled out
  • Manage and support storage and virtualization platforms
  • Providing technical support and maintenance (incident, change & problem resolution)
  • Act as an escalation point for matters concerning server infrastructure
  • Supporting Severs, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint and handling all phases of migrations and upgrades
  • Work collaboratively with the Security, Applications team, and our vendors to define frameworks and help implement the best practices for deployments on premise and in the cloud.
  • Work with clients to determine their needs and assess solutions for improving delivery processes
  • Ability to provide updates and documentation as requested in the Project Plan as well as all closeout documents
  • Work on new Project Plan design, and overhaul
  • Attend meetings and gather requirements relating to new projects such as onsite infrastructure deployment, relocations, cloud provisioning etc.
  • Work closely with technical colleagues to develop Client solutions
  • Create and maintain detailed documents and diagrams for all systems and infrastructure across the on premise and cloud environments
  • Training and mentoring other members of the team with Cloud architecture, security, and operations.
  • Support the help desk for issues requiring subject matter expertise

Required Experience

  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in Hybrid environments IT; Experience working in AWS/Azure environments and managed services is highly desirable
  • Knowledge Federal IT Architectural patterns is critical
  • Excellent technical knowledge in operating systems, storage area networking, virtualization, workstations (configuration and connectivity), network file servers, applicable software, and trouble-shooting techniques
  • Experience with architecting and designing technical solutions using combination of IaaS and PaaS
  • Experience with automated provisioning of Dev/Test/Staging and Production environments using Infrastructure as a Code
  • Demonstrated ability to create system architecture diagrams and documentation for review by both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with modern service hosting, security, and risk management concerns such as IAM, access control, monitoring, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, and containers
  • Ability to break down application requirements and propose appropriate architectural solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or another related field; or an associate degree plus 10 years of related IT experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience with AWS, IT systems engineering, and system security compliance
  • Minimum 8 years in the Government Contracting industry
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect
Security Requirements
  • Candidate must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
