Senior Systems Applications Engineer, Software

 

Position Overview

As ADI increases its focus on system solutions for an electric vehicle, the E-Mobility Group (EMG) is looking for a highly skilled software applications engineer who will work closely with the product development, system, marketing, and field teams to enable the adoption of wireless battery management systems at OEMs and Tier1s.

 

 

Context on the role

This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated Engineer to work on cutting-edge system products comprising of silicon, wireless networking software, security, and application software. Given the complexity of the system products provided by EMG, this role offers a wide range of opportunities for technical growth in areas like low-power wireless networking, RF system design and measurement, embedded software systems, and application software development.

The role may be appealing for Senior Software Engineers with broad skill sets who wish to work on more complex system solutions.

 

The role requires an energetic and motivated individual, with strong communication, organization, leadership, and technical skills, and who works well in a multi-disciplinary, geographically spread team.  The successful candidate will be required to engage in technical discussions and support activities with automotive customers.

 

 

Job Duties

  • Provide first-class support to automotive OEMs and Tier1s in integrating ADI systems solutions and software products into their system.
  • Enable the Customer’s integration of wireless products with the development of proof of concept demos, system prototypes, example software, PC tools, and documentation.
  • May lead technical development or customer software integration efforts.
  • May mentor junior engineers.
  • May design and develop embedded and python software in an Agile environment.
    • Create and maintain device drivers and software projects for embedded systems and microcontroller-based platforms.
    • Architect firmware for bare metal and RTOS platforms with multiple sensors and connectivity options.
  • Be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects and set priorities to deliver on schedule.
  • Work closely with other EMG teams to understand customer needs and drive new product requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree (or educational equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.
  • 8+ years development experience in real-time embedded C/C++ software development and python (PC environment).
  • Knowledgeable about system & platform concepts and software development processes.
  • Capable of technically define, develop, and maintain a full software life cycle.
  • Develop and execute test cases for unit, integration, and functional software testing.
  • Project and issue management experience using SCM tools, SVN, GIT, JIRA.
  • Experience with revision control tools, issue-tracking tools, compilers, in-circuit emulators, and debuggers.
  • Experience in Vehicle Network protocols like CAN, LIN, I2C, UART, and SPI.
  • Customer-facing experience in a development or support role an advantage.
  • Experience in low-power wireless networking an advantage.
  • Experience in automotive an advantage.
  • Good understanding of embedded software design and development practices.
  • Deep understanding of software testing tools, frameworks, and infrastructures.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of Software, Applications, System, and Product engineers with wide-ranging backgrounds, cultures, and geographies.

Nice to have

  • Good Understanding of Automotive ECU development life cycle and AUTOSAR based implementation at the product level.
  • Know-how in: RTOS, Testing, CAN, CAN-FD, AUTOSAR, OTA, Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
  • Experience in automotive customer engagement is a strong advantage.
