The Intel Super Compute Platform organization is seeking a senior level software expert to architect end to end system software for Intel's products under development on the path to zeta-scale. The software architecture spans software structure and bounding box, firmware, drivers, cross component, interfaces / interactions / interoperability, protocols, algorithms, and applications. Candidates will be adept at abstracting the complexity of a system into a model that clearly exposes the requirements and the constraints of software and respective interfaces to hardware. Candidates will engage with customers on technical requirements / discussions and interact with technologists across Intel and within the industry to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development. The ideal candidate has developed high level system architectures for large scale supercomputer systems including leadership class systems. The candidate will have experience with balancing the software architecture trade-offs of compute, storage, and high-speed fabric within performance and power constraints. The candidate understands the concepts around scalable control systems for system monitoring, system booting, and job launch. The candidate will be familiar with the range off open source software options such as openHPC to improve performance and scaling of the same. Responsibilities for this position include pathfinding and providing technical direction for design, development, and validation of software architectures for exascale systems and beyond. Candidates will explore, create, monitor, and grade software architectures against the software requirements and use cases. Candidates will identify discrepancies and address with relevant hardware and software teams; coordinate software roles and responsibilities across teams; coordinate software interfaces for software from customer, partners / integrators, and Intel software components. Responsibilities will include meeting with hardware and software teams for co-design to make sure hardware meets the needs of the software architecture; maintaining the system architecture lifecycle from concept to implementation to release and maintenance, ensuring implementation matches requirements, and updating architecture to adjust to changes. Responsibilities will also include managing the software bill of materials ensuring it meets software Life Cycle requirements of licensing and release.
