Position Summary

A Senior Technical Consultant is responsible for the successful implementation of Operational Analytics Systems for Bentley users and liaises with users to clarify requirements and desired project outcomes, recommends appropriate solution(s) including Bentley products and integrations. The Senior Consultant delivers consulting expertise for a Bentley’s software solutions in line with the consulting agreement and interacts with the user throughout the pre-sales, implementation, configuration, and deployment phases of a project, including product training. This role reports to Bentley Professional Services Manager and is part of a multi-functional team which focuses on Operational Analytics solutions.

 

Location:  This role is remote, based from a home office in the US

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop end to end Operational Analytics configurations, including requirements clarification, design, configuration, solution implementation, test management and testing, documentation writing
  • Lead technical work and collaborate with the project team
  • Liaise with the user and provide resolution to technical issues
  • Understand and use common data collection methods and protocols
  • Work with linear data from different systems (data profiling, transformation, import and visualization)
  • Manage testing and test project deliverables
  • Write technical documentation to support user specific Operational Analytics implementations
  • Configure development and test environments
  • Provide Operational Analytics training courses for standard product and customized features, including training material preparation
  • Mentor (junior) consultants
  • Demonstrate the Operational Analytics product and configuration to Operational Analytics users
  • Work closely with the users to assist in resolving product and configuration issues
  • Advise the user IT department on system deployments

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, related discipline or relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in consulting or software development
  • Basic knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle database administration tasks, such as software installation, backup and restore
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure
  • Experience with Software Version Control tools
  • Communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Leadership skills; attitude: lead by example, be assertive, inspire confidence, keep an open perspective and open to taking up new challenges and managing change
  • Team player, able to direct others to participate as part of a cross-regional/functional team and work with business partners and vendors
  • Self-Starter, able to take the initiative with the ability to work with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Travel required up to 40% per year. 
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.

 

Desired

  • Experience with linear assets and linear referencing systems
  • General rail knowledge is preferred with particular knowledge of:
    • Railway network data (track, waymarks, linear assets)
    • Rail asset condition measurements from track recording vehicles
