OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE

 

Performs the full range of functional and localization test services, often on complex and/or large projects, to identify and resolve issues that result in high quality language solutions and client satisfaction. Applies advanced testing expertise to identify issues in complex and/or critical language solutions.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 · Performs the full range of test services (e.g., estimating, planning, test development/execution, analysis, and tracking/measurement), often on large and complex aspects of the solution. Develops test plan methods and/or tools to effectively evaluate complex and/or critical aspects of the solution/requirements (e.g., multiple platforms/devices, diverse content/asset types.) Designs and leads others to execute multiple test cases on a variety of solution components. Analyzes, identifies root causes, and generates a range of solutions to address problems in complex and/or critical aspects of the solution.

· Applies deep testing and analysis/problem solving skills in order to identify and resolve complex/critical issues that have a significant impact on solution quality. Understands and uses overall functional and localization knowledge to identify common issues that affect solutions quality and make improvements. Works with project team/Project Manager to outline requirements, allocate resources, and establish timeline to ensure expectations and results are achieved.

· Contributes to the overall strategy of the Technical Services function based on experience and technical expertise. Helps to develop expertise within the function by coaching and mentoring others, helping assessing training needs and developing training plans. Actively contributes to internal and external professional communities, knowledge bases, and forums.

· Fosters credibility and trust by representing the team with stakeholders or senior management and in cross-functional initiatives. Builds relationships with customers to gain insights on end-user perspectives and business requirements. Additional Job Specific Responsibilities Team Leader (applies to P6 and P7) At times, employees will be required to perform various people management responsibilities. The specific responsibilities and the time allocated to each are determined on a case-by-case basis based on business needs. Typically, the more senior the role, the greater amount of people management responsibilities and allocated time.  

· Arranges back-ups, manages overtime and absences, administrative tasks to manage paid leaves and vacations.

· Monitors and reports on people KPIs – overtime hours, time/utilization status against project codes/tasks.

· Facilitates local resources

· Monitors overtime/utilization via reports, identifies issues/causes of excessive overtime and takes/recommends corrective action.

· Oversees workload of the team in charged, monitoring it to avoid unbalanced/overloaded situation. Superintend outsourcing in the meantime.

· Helps to set and/or clarify performance objectives.

· Coordinates activities which enforce quality improvements.

· Identifies required training for new and existing team members, helps to secure learning programs/resources, and coordinates the delivery of on-site and/or virtual learning. Also monitors team members’ participation to ensure the training they are provided is being put into use.

· Trains others

· Provide intermediate and advanced technical support and problem solving

· Provides technical support, troubleshooting and problem solving

· Prepares project deliverables and reviews deliverables prepared by junior leads

· Manages product lines, receives project outline hand-offs and prepares for testing or for hand-off to junior leads

· Develops test suites for new projects using exploratory mindset without supervision

· Applies technical and linguistic expertise to client project evaluation requests, creates project execution plans, prepares estimates and quotes, sets up test environments and runs large projects end-to-end

· Communicates with client engineers, takes part in project planning and evaluations, resolves tech support issues, linguistic issues and queries

· Maintains and grows operational, technical, and localization expertise and testing domain knowledge

· Improves current approaches to solve both project-specific and general testing-related problems and roadblocks

· Review test plans, testing estimates and quotations from junior leads

· Signs-off on feature set based on client requirements

· Reviews and performs QA on bug reports

· Provides technical support, troubleshooting and problem solving

· Prepares project deliverables and reviews deliverables prepared by junior leads

· Provides Tester supervision and support

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Holds at least a BA degree
