Job Description
#### Position Description:


We are looking for a smart, passionate Senior Researcher to lead the UX
research team for our world-wide eCommerce UX team. You’ll work closely with
executives, project managers, designers, developers, and business
stakeholders, while managing a team aimed at optimizing a global network of
websites for a wide range of site visitors. Responsibilities include leading
all aspects of UX research, from test design and implementation, to results,
analysis and reporting. You’ll direct and assign research projects to your
team, monitor their progress on projects, and support them in creating
recommendations for UI changes to fix and enhance the visitor experience.
You’ll also educate execs and product teams on customer needs and behaviors,
inspiring individuals and teams to become truly customer-smart and -centric.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead and conduct UX qualitative and quantitative UX research projects to
address front-end and back-end UI issues across a wide range of website UIs,
customer types, and product information
• Work on UX research roadmaps that define core research needs and describe
the range of studies needed by the websites and product teams
• Provide efficient, timely execution of research projects, using a wide range
of tools and methods
• Perform competitive analysis, benchmarking, contextual inquiry and other
advanced types of usability tests
• Contribute UI ideas that simplify and enhance the online experience
• Share and evangelize study results within the product division and other
web-focused teams
• Manage, mentor and train UX team members in UX research tools and techniques
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships to ensure that most appropriate UX
research tools are available to support the research projects

#### Position Requirements:


Qualifications
• Demonstrated expertise triangulating multiple research and data collection
methods for eComm UX results
• Expertise in experimental design and statistics; equally comfortable with
qualitative and quantitative data
• Deep understanding of and practice applying the principles of good web and
UI design
• Proficient with Office365, JIRA, Sharepoint
• Expert-level experience with usability testing platforms such as
usertesting.com, dscout, Groupsolver, survey platforms, session-recording
tools, and site intercepts
• Excels at communicating with product teams and engaging them in UX research
• Organizational skills to manage multiple projects with different deadlines
and prioritize tasks independently
• Adaptability to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
• Possess a positive attitude and ability to work in a collaborative and
energetic team environment
• Deeply curious, empathetic and passionate about figuring out why people do
what they do

Education/Experience
• PhD-level graduate work in Cognitive Psychology research
• Minimum of 25 years in the field of UX research
• At least 10 years of industry experience conducting eCommerce UX research
projects, collaborating with project managers and UX designers on a daily
basis
• UX Research experience across a wide range of applications and devices,
including large enterprise, developer tools, hand-held devices, SW
applications, HW devices, and eCommerce
• Experience teaching Research Methods, Statistics, Usability Testing, and UI
Design Principles
