The Application Engineer primarily act as consultants and provide support to internal and external customers. Application Engineer's help to identify the silicon issues and work with analog/digital design team to drive the issue resolving. We are looking for an experienced high speed SERDES Application and System Engineer to join our team. This position will use your knowledge of high-speed SERDES IP to lead efforts provide the pre-sales demo, post sales technical support and HVM ATE support. It will also need to setup the customer HW/SW platform, characterize and debug the electrical level issue against the different high-speed protocols such as PCIE Gen1/2/3/4/5 to Ethernet and OIF-CEI standards from 1.25Gbps up to 112Gbps. The position requires the passion to work with customer and self-driven with very good technical knowledge on design and characterization.

In this role responsibilities include, although not limited to:

• Perform protocol specific EV characterization and generate the characterization reports.

• Work with IP teams and customers for various SERDES applications and protocols.

• Work closely with the characterization team, follow the test methodology and perform the compliance test for high speed serial IO standards.

• Validate PMA blocks of the SerDes transceiver Involved in engaging with key customers to explain current and future SERDES architectures and requirements, gathering requirements for next generation SERDES, and demonstrating technology capability.

• Design/Simulate/Bring-Up Characterization and Evaluation Boards.

• Travel may be required.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 4+ years of experience.

OR

Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 2+ years of experience in Semiconductor industry (and/or in a research and development environment) AND:

• Troubleshooting, remote and on-site high speed SERDES EV test and technical support SERDES (25Gbps+) and sub-blocks (ex. PLL, CDRs, TX/RX Equalization).

• One or more of the protocols such as PCI-Express, 10GBASE-KR/CR, 25GBASE-KR/CR, 50GBASE-KR/CR JESD204x, CPRI/OBSAI, USB3.0High-bandwidth oscilloscopes, BERTs, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, source signal analyzers, TDRs, and related lab equipment for SERDES characterization.

• Scripting language such as Perl or Python.
