Job Description
#### Position Description:


We are looking for a validation engineer with a solid background in server
UEFI testing for a leadership position in Lenovo’s DCG Product Assurance team.
The role will require experience with UEFI feature validation, servers and
subsystems, test case development, and the development process.  This role
will work closely with both the development and Product Assurance teams in
order to lead PA efforts in validation of new ThinkSystem servers, and UEFI
functions. Responsibilities will include creating test plans, test cases, and
developing validation methods to accomplish these goals.
Applicants must have a strong background in UEFI, functional validation, error
injection, negative path testing, XCC interactions, etc. The role requires the
ability to apply this knowledge to develop effective and efficient test plans,
and test cases to ensure a quality product release. The candidate needs
experience leading a team, directing daily activities, identifying and
resolving blocking issues with the development teams.

#### Position Requirements:


• • Provide validation leadership for Product Assurance validation efforts
• Research and understand new UEFI functions
• Develop test plans, test processes and test cases
• Work cross-team within PA and with Development to ensure efficiency and
quality
• Training of new team members
• Identify automation opportunities and drive automation development
activities
• Advocate for develop-for-test requirements within the development teams
• Gather / present status
Skills / Qualifications
• Fluent English is required (Mandarin is also a plus)
• Development or testing of server UEFI funcitons
• Understanding of PA, development, unit test, and BBFV processes
• 5+ years’ work experience in the server industry, 5+ years’ in test leader
role
• Understanding of server hardware and architecture including systems
management, UEFI, OS’s, and networking
• Proven track record of successful cross-team, group collaboration to drive
necessary processes and ensure product quality and customer satisfaction
• Strong technical & process development skills, with a clear ability/desire
to go deep technically when needed
• Ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities
• Programming / scripting is a plus – primarily python
• Understanding of automated test and automation frameworks is a plus
