Job Description
#### Position Description:
Lenovo Datacenter Group (DCG) is addressing the $100 Billion+ worldwide market
of enterprise products including server, networking, storage and enterprise
solutions. The Data Center Infrastructure (DCI) business unit is responsible
for product portfolio planning, product definition, product go-to-market plan,
product launch activities as well as full lifecycle ownership of the servers
and options.
Position Duties:
1.The Options Segment Manager
Report to Director of DCI product marketing with responsibilities including,
but not limited to: Gather & synthesize market intelligence across a segment
to identify & define strategic roadmap initiatives. Identify areas of
business growth within current markets. Work in close collaboration with the
Server and the Option product managers to ensure strategic initiatives are
aligned with the overall needs of the customers and the market.
• Own server options portfolio, scope, strategy & prioritization
• Work across each segment owner to align common building blocks across the
DCG portfolio
• Responsible for overall business integrity and drive business growth by
measuring key indicators and provide leadership on areas to focus (Revenue /
Profit, Sales Load, Attach Rates, etc.)
• Work closely with options Drive innovation thru R&T/R&D teams & key alliance
partners
• Represent DCI in the Release Management Team as well as the Options ODT
(Offering Delivery Team)
• Work closely with server and option product managers to coordinate when the
options are refreshed on quarterly basis
• Work closely with development team to ensure prioritization of options that
can be contained in the budget (often through negotiation with GEOs and other
business units)
2\. Product manager.
For a specific category in the options portfolio including market analysis,
definition of features, product positioning, value proposition, and
setting/achieving financial objectives;
• Drive end to end product management execution from concept phase to plan,
development, worldwide product launch, sustaining and EOL;
• Create product disclosure & competitive analysis report to support
successful WW launch
• Work closely with technology vendors to understand technology trends,
product roadmaps, as well as planning go-to-market/demand gen activities
(including MDF)
• Expect to take over management of other options portfolios over time as
changes demand
#### Position Requirements:
Position Requirements:
• Education credentials should include an EE or equivalent technical
undergraduate degree. A graduate level degree (MS or MBA) is preferred;
• 10 years plus working experience in IT industry, including more than 5
years’ experience of x86 server product management
• Deep knowledge of x86 Server, Server Options & data center market trends;
• Proven track record on creating enterprise products for mature & emerging
market requirements at a global technology company;
• Work well in team environment with peers in product program management teams
in DCG and regional product marketing teams;
• Excellent written & presentation skills in both Mandarin and English;
• Ability to influence top management for right product investment decision,
be active, work well under pressure;
