Job Title: Service Depot Technician:
 

Position Summary:

The Service Depot Technician will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting and repairing instruments sent by internal and external customers. This position also supports production of items such as software CDs, computer systems and PC kits as well as providing shipping and receiving assistance. The qualified individual must have strong troubleshooting skills on both electrical and mechanical systems. Strong computer skills are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and/or testing of instruments or service parts
  • Follow manufacturing guidelines to repair instruments and/or service parts
  • Work with technical support and/or field service to understand repair need of instruments and service parts
  • Provide technical guidance for field service engineers and technical support team
  • Follow quality control processes to test that instruments or service parts are within proper specifications
  • Assist in managing marketing, demo, and loaner equipment
  • Actively initiate/participate in workplace safety, 5S, PPI, and environmentally friendly activities
  • Ensure proper communication and/or documentation for product complaints per standard operating procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory and administrative records in a timely manner
  • Assist in the development and improvement of service processes and information
  • Remain current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, technical bulletins and other relevant materials
  • In addition, other duties may be assigned as the business need warrants.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High degree of technical competence and creativity
  • Possess a positive attitude and sense of urgency
  • Meticulous, keen attention to details
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Associate’s degree in electronics, engineering, biomedical technology or other applicable field of study preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with related science, engineering and/or customer skills

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • H.S Diploma Required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
