Job Description

We design, build, and operate highly available, highly secure services supporting device manufacturing, online commerce and entertainment, and operating system security.  We are doing ground-breaking work in practical security and systems management, and are looking for an innovative, high energy engineer to join us.

This Service engineer role is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Responsibilities will include ensuring that the platform component(s) are performing optimally; being backed up appropriately, being patched as needed, and being deployed in a way that ensures scalability and fault-tolerance.  The role will need to have good communication skills and should look for opportunities to drive improved health monitoring approaches, to look for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, and document the operational aspects related to their area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • 4+ years of Windows Server administrator experience preferably in a complex online-services environment 
  • Proven track record for being trustworthy and granted highly privileged access
  • Good Operating System skills for Administration, Security Hardening, Patching, Configuration Management, and Deployment
  • Experience in scripting using PowerShell and automating administrative and remediation tasks.
  • Desired experience with Windows Active Directory Administration, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Authentication and Authorization principals, and deep security group understanding
  • Desired experience with networking, DNS, IP protocols, and load balancer concepts
  • Strong deductive reasoning, pattern recognition, critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills - used to trouble-shoot complex issues, identify patterns related to successful deployments, and the ability to work across a large portfolio of project work
  • Experience in a fast paced, high stress, support environment- can collaborate and at the same time be an independent thinker with minimal management
  • Ability to follow and develop detailed process and procedure documentation, as well as leverage the documentation as descriptive guidance
  • Strong written and verbal communicator 
  • Outstanding work ethic, self-driven, reliable
  • Experience working with a SIEM is a plus (preferably HP/Arcsight) 
  • Network, Security, or Platform certification(s) (S+, N+, MCSP, CNA) is a plus 
  • Knowledge on working with global teams across time zones, cultures, and languages.

Qualifications

B.E/B Tech in Computer Science, Information science or related field.
