343 Industries, the studio developing titles in the Halo universe, is looking for a Service Engineer to join our IT Engineering team.   This team delivers a wide range of IT services to support the Studio in Redmond as well as partners located around the world working on Halo experiences.

We are looking for a strong Service Engineer to join our IT team who will serve as the subject matter expert for Linux within the Studio and as a SME in running multiple P4/Helix instances at scale.

~80% of your time will be spent working on various hands on engineering projects across multiple IT systems in addition to supporting P4 and Linux systems.

~20% will be spent representing IT in our partnership with Gaming Privacy and Security teams, making policy decisions and writing documentation.

• Be the primary Linux technical resource across the team in driving best practices and being a knowledge resource.
• Partner with the other P4 admins on managing and maintaining multiple large worldwide P4 deployments.
• Oversee security compliance and process for non-Windows devices.
• Serve as the point of content between IT and Gaming Privacy to drive awareness of privacy initiatives within the team and help to execute on process changes to align with privacy policies.
• Be the primary point of content between the IT team and various Security teams in order to channel communication between the teams and drive compliance with mandated policies.
• Work on various Windows infrastructure projects both break-fix and new deployments.
• Take ownership and drive service improvements in several additional areas including Radius, SSL, Certificate Authority and Code signing.
• Develop automated solutions to reduce manual errors and improve productivity.
• Work closely with peer engineering teams on defining and implementing improvements to service monitoring and reporting to enhance reliability and capability.

3+ years administering Helix/Perforce at scale in an Enterprise environment and Proficient in:

• Commit/edge architecture in a multi-site deployment with replication.
• Familiarity with Server Deployment Package (SDP) and backup/recovery procedures.
• A firm understanding of administering Helix including troubleshooting performance.
• Day-to-day care and feeding of the server installation, rotating logs, routine maintenance
• Protections, access controls, security and monitoring
• P4Broker, P4Proxy, and replication for scaling to global deployments
• Active Directory/LDAP integration
• Advanced administration of large numbers of users, branches, and locations
  
  

5+ years managing Linux servers in an Enterprise production environment.

Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with people.
Ability to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment.

Demonstrated ability in automating and improving services

Comfortable learning and growing in a fast paced, start-up environment.

Ability to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously.

Bonus Qualifications

• Windows System administration experience
• Experience working as a sys admin within a game studio.
• Scripting experience.
• Experience with Azure
• Storage management and configuration.
• Network management experience with Cisco and/or F5.
