What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure: Siemens Smart Infrastructure is seeking a Regional Field Service Manager (RSM) for our Electrification Automation (EA) Business Unit headquartered in Wendell, NC. The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, photovoltaic inverters, medium and low voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. This position will directly manage our Western Region Field Services Engineers in the execution of our electrical services business working with LV, MV & HV power distribution systems including switchgear, LV, MV & HV circuit breakers, SF6 Gas circuit breakers, MV Soft Starters, transformers, surge protection devices, vibration analysis and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance. Specific Requirements: Reporting to the Director of Field Operations and EHS, this position works closely with the SI EA CS project managers and Field Service Scheduler to safely execute service projects. The goal of this position is to oversee the field teams to ensure efficient and high-quality execution of field work that meets or beats job/project/contract budget and ensure high customer satisfaction. The Resource Managers oversee the day-to-day operations of the group to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with established procedures and protocols. • Responsible for supervising, enforcing our EH&S procedures and fostering a strong safety culture. • Responsible for planning and maintaining schedule of all field resources by coordinating with the Resource (RM) and/or Technical Order Manager (TOM). Redirect, borrow, hire, and share manpower resources as necessary to meet schedules. • Ensure proper information is turned over to field to efficiently execute work (i.e., plans, estimated hours, schedule, etc.). • Serves as first level of support for field technical issues. • Ensures entire team accurately completes all required documentation weekly or per due dates - timesheets, Work Orders, daily logs, expenses, etc. • Perform periodic checks of field work to ensure high quality of work and identify potential productivity opportunities. • Regional Service Manager must possess entrepreneurial spirit, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong time management aptitude and strong analytical skills. He/she must well work well with teams and as an individual. • Track and ensure proper safety training, and personnel safety equipment for all team members. • Conduit to the field - conduct regular meetings with all field personnel to share company information and drive a sense of community belonging. • Provide feedback to all field personnel regarding performance, quality, and productivity issues. Roll out new processes or initiatives pertaining to field teams. • Ensure proper communication between the customer, field service engineers and project management. Education: BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and Experience: Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and basic knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact. Demonstrates understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Typically, 8+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
