Eaton’s Vehicle Group division is currently seeking a Service Packer to join our Afternoon Shift Materials team. This position is based at our Kings Mountain, NC facility. Position Overview: The driving focus of the Service Packer will be to support the Service department and Materials group to achieve plant distribution goals and sustain operational efficiency through the preparation and packaging of parts for shipment. Includes driving fork truck routes and Aftermarket picking, packaging and shipping for customers to include expedited shipments and UPS shipping. In this function you will: Operate a forklift to drive material routes and perform parts picking duties. Pack, label and ship parts for external customers; maintain and distribute related documentation. Communicate and coordinate shipping activities with the shipping department, and communicate with shift operator, supervisor, and support personnel. Work under time constraints while maintaining 100% accuracy of transactions. Assist in on-the-job training for new employees. Work as a team member to meet safety, quality and productivity goals and requirements. A reasonable amount of overtime is required, including weekends and holidays as scheduled. Previous experience operating fork trucks or other powered industrial vehicles. Upon hire, must pass forklift examination and operate forklift in a safe manner. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Kings Mountain, NC facility. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with the following software is helpful: Excel, Oracle, FCS, WMS, Premium Freight Database, UPS Website and Outlook. Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly operation preferred. Data-orientation. Strong teamwork skills. Basic computer skills. Position Criteria: Review available reports and documents to determine allocation of parts for shipment. Maintain accurate maintenance records by completing the forklift safety audit at the start of every shift. Operate lifting aids and/or overhead hoists to manipulate and move parts. Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping and 5S efforts. Perform work in a manner which supports Eaton’s Quality systems (QS, 9000, TS 16949, CQI-9), and Environmental system (ISO 14000). Able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
