Job Description
TITLE: Service Technician COMPANY: Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. DUTIES: Develop, install, test, calibrate, operate, maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, electrohydraulic, and electronic measuring and recording instruments, apparatus, and equipment such as capital medical equipment. Service Angiography Products, diagnostic imaging products, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Dicom Networking, remote diagnostics and provide Technical Support for both customers and engineers at sites in Michigan and Ohio areas and occasionally at customer sites nationwide. Utilize complex calibration tools and service test equipment including DVM, oscilloscope, network analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Gauss Meter, high voltage probe and propriety software to perform routine service, modifications and preventative maintenance. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers. Lead complex equipment installations, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and refurbishments. Lead complex product and applications training for customers. Guide complex maintenance on tools and test equipment, and complete documents of all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures. Lead complex service or systems calls and interfaces with both internal and external customers to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution. Guide assessment of the most complex installation and service of product/equipment performance based on field support data and design modifications or improvements. REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the above listed fields and 4 years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Full term of experience must include the following skills: testing, repairing and maintaining capital medical equipment; Radiation Generating Systems in Advanced Therapy Systems, Computed Tomography Systems, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems, Dicom Networking, remote diagnostics and provide Technical Support for both customers and engineers; utilizing complex calibration tools and service test equipment including the aforementioned items; ability to De-Ice and perform Cryogenic Tasks on our technically advanced MRI equipment; effective understanding of Post Quench procedures and Magnet Troubleshooting on superconducting MRI systems; ability to effectively understand, measure and calibrate Ionizing Radiation Rates on Advanced Therapy equipment; ability to Perform Start Up and Acceptance Testing on MRI, CT and AT equipment. Approximately 10% travel required. Tele-commuting permitted when not at customer site.
