*This role will reside in Houston,TX Position Overview Superior Service is key to customer satisfaction at Siemens. The role of Service Technician drives customer satisfaction by providing outstanding repair and calibration services for Siemens Continuous Gas Analyzer and Laser analytic products. This is a fast-paced environment where the ability to multitask is needed to meet cycle time goals and insure operational efficiency. Creating detailed documentation of all aspects of the repair cycle is needed to provide the service report to the customer which communicates findings during the process and the remedy to the issue found. On occasion direct communication with the customer will be needed to further detail the complaint to help clarify the repair needs. The Service Technician will report to the Manager of the Repair Operation, Measurement Intelligence business segment. We are looking for an early career candidate to fill this role. This position is in house, in the repair center of our Houston Tx facility. The role is an individual contributor and does not have any direct reports. This position works in a Team environment with other technicians, Repair Coordinator, and Technical Support teams. Responsibilities Perform a full range of standard work for the instrument as required. Identify and resolve technical related issues regarding hardware, software, and other readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Provide primary repair, test and calibration functions for Siemens extractive continuous gas analyzers and tunable diode lasers products at the repair center in Houston Tx. Documentation of all actions taken during the repair process and creation of the service report Updating status of in process work to the Repair Coordinator or other team members Working in a Team environment to ensure organizational goals are met and opportunities for improvement are identified. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Degree or technical degree in electronics. 1-3 years of experience in the assembly, test and calibration of continuous gas analyzers/laser technology or other field instruments is a plus. Customer Service skills with the ability to call and professionally converse directly with customers regarding technical aspects of the customer complaint. Excellent skills in MS Office applications. Basic knowledge in digital communication including, but not limited to, Profibus, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, and Hart. Organization: Digital Industries Company: Siemens Industry, Inc.
