Job Description
Eaton’s Mission Systems is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our 1st Shift team. This position is based at our Westminster, MD facility. Position Overview: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurate physical receiving of materials and product in order to maintain integrity of inventory control. This role will ensure delivery of materials and product to the proper department. In this function you will: Count, weigh, or measure items of outgoing shipment in order to verify information against sales orders/customer requirements, bills of lading or other records Examine and pack outgoing shipments, reject damaged items Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications Operate lift truck or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage area Check on outbound inventory and administer the processing/shipment Trace and track shipments to ensure timely delivery Responsible for monitoring the returns process Sort, count, identify, verify and track all material by utilizing Oracle to maintain accurate inventory records Verify shipments and log them according to required procedures Investigate and resolve situations where items received are not properly documented in the daily receipt log Assist management in recycling material in the warehouse Cooperate with representatives from other departments in the organization to provide warehouse information as requested Perform regular material warehouse audits to ensure that material is undamaged and maintained neatly throughout the warehouse Ensure that all documents and material used in the warehouse are of satisfactory quality Safely utilize forklifts and power jacks to move warehouse materials according to proper safety instructions and as directed Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required 1 year of warehouse shipping or manufacturing experience Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Westminster, MD to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee Preferred qualifications: Previous experience with safe operation of forklift Position Criteria: Experience with computerized inventory tracking systems (MRP, ERP), online UPS/FEDEX portals Previous experience with stretch wrap equipment Ability to maintain accuracy (detail oriented) without missing deadlines Ability to read, write and communicate effectively Basic math skills Basic computer skills – Accurate keying and obtaining transit data from carrier websites Experience with hydraulic lifts, pallet jacks and walking power lift operations Valid Maryland driver’s license Must have a clean driving record Why work at Eaton?
