Job Description
Position Overview The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overall coordination and management of outbound shipments in alignment with customer requirements. This role is part of a dedicated warehouse team supporting the Gas Chromatograph and Integration (GCI) manufacturing business in Houston, TX. This position is expected to cross-train in all materials process functions to best support operational requirements as assigned and to actively engage in applicable SAP transitions. This position reports to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager. Responsibilities Ensuring accuracy within packing and loading of outbound shipments Schedule large complex shipments and plan logistics to ensure delivery to customer per established requirements Utilizing SAP to perform shipping transactions and process outbound shipments Ensuring products are packed appropriately to prevent damage while in transit Verifying no damaged items are packed and sent to customer Maintain accurate records of outbound shipments Troubleshoots and problem solve shipping issues and customer complaints that arise Generate daily reports to validate outbound domestic and international shipments are processed accurately Compliance with established company processes / procedures and following work instructions Responsible for completing all paperwork, computer transaction and record keeping of all inventory transactions Shows initiative in developing solutions to improve shipping processes Performs other related duties as assigned Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience High school diploma or equivalent 3 years vocational training or 3 years practical experience needed Proficient with SAP ERP – minimum 2 years experience SAP MM module transaction experience Basic understanding of inventory control procedures Proficient with Microsoft suite, (Word, Outlook, and Excel) Experience with computerized inventory systems Ability to perform math calculations Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, customer service and project managers Lift objects up to 50lbs on occasion (bend, reach, walk, stand for extended periods) 0% travel required Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons.
