Job Position for SJZ St.Bees international school

Main Responsibility

Teaching role

• To be responsible for teaching science subjects to primary school students.
• To be able to integrate the requirements of Chinese statutory education within the framework of the British education structure in lesson planning and delivery.
• To plan schemes of work, programmes of study and assessments within your given subject areas.
• To promote the use of English inside and outside the classroom with the eventual aim of producing students’ bilingual competency.
• To participate in co-curricular activities to enrich the curriculum.
• To mark work, giving appropriate feedback and maintain records of students’ progress and development.
• To participate in departmental meetings, parents’ meetings and whole school training events, and contact parents for updating students’ academic performance.

Tutor (class teacher) role (all teachers will be form Tutors)
• To oversee of all aspects of students’ progress and development for a given tutor group.
• To contribute actively to the development of a positive school ethos, managing students’ behaviour in the classroom and on school premises and applying the school policy on rewards and sanctions.
• To be in charge of the class and participate in class meetings, students assemblies, and various student activities.
• To communicate and coordinate with parents, providing professional feedback on student progress.

Essential Requirements and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
• A teaching or TEFL qualification.
• Normally a minimum of two to three years teaching experience of the related subjects.
• Experience of teaching Chinese students.
• Experience of offering subjects outside sciences would be welcomed.
