Job Description What are my responsibilities? Mechanical Engineers are responsible for buyout equipment items, valves, and piping for systems involving multiple mechanical components. Preparing detailed design packages and / or review of vendor design of pressure vessels designed to ASME Section VII, GB150, GB151, TSG21 and other local code.Preparing detailed design packages and / or review of vendor design of heat exchanger designed to TEMA and GB 151.Review vendor design of water treatment equipment, such as silo, clarifier, dosing systemReview vendor design of rotating equipment , such as pump, mixer, blower, compressorPreparing detailed design packages and / or check structural design calculations and shop drawings for equipment skids, platforms, and other structures to local and international code requirements.Specification review, scope and RFQ package preparation, technical review of quotations, preparing vendor and budget recommendations. Ensuring compliance of internal and vendor documentation to customer specifications and Siemens’ standards. Incorporating customer specifications into design packages, Request for Quotation packages, and vendor documentation reviews.Responsible for coordinating subcontracted engineering services and work with remote offices.Providing internal and external communication on technical issues and coordinating responses of other engineering team members at remote sites.What do I need to qualify for this job?BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Structural, or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience5 years above of Mechanical Engineering experienceSolid technical knowledge and experience with heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and structural steelFamiliar with SW6Experienced in the detailed design and fabrication of process equipment along with associated piping systemsAble to communicate technical issues effectively to Project team, vendors, and customersCoordinate engineering deliverables and equipment on time and on budget Good spoken and written English skill Some short term travel required, less than 30 days/year.Following items will be added value points: Prepare piping specifications and line schedules Apply ASME B31.3 to design of piping systems Specify and select valves Specify and select rotating equipment such as pumps and mixers Perform structural calculations and member selection for equipment skids, vessel supports, and access platforms
