The candidate will be part of a dynamic design team that is responsible for signal integrity, verification and characterization of connector and the corresponding PCB designs. This position will be involved in fast pace signal integrity design for product development by using EM tools, circuit simulation tools, measurement tools and other analysis tools. As a member of a cross functional team, the candidate will also optimize system level performance of high- speed channels. This person will work collaboratively with measurement, layout and mechanical teams to ensure SI designs are practical and cost-effective.

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for high speed connector, cable assembly, and RF design, work with mechanical team, layout team and RF team to understand constrains from mechanical/material point of view and sort out the design to meet specifications.
• Modelling - Needs to model transmission lines, PCB boards and connectors in 2D/3D EM software such as HFSS. He/She will analyse the simulated data to make design decisions.
• Test data correlation:

• High frequency simulations - To correlate the data between simulation and measurement, he/she will work with mechanical engineers/PCB layout engineers to build proper models for simulation.
• Test board design - work with layout engineers to design BOR and provides the design guidelines. Review the whole design work, including PCB stackup, SMA launch, reference plane and BOR.
• Test data review – Correlate measured data and simulation results. Debug the design based on the correlation.

Skills/Qualifications:

Candidates should have most of the following background.

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or above) in electrical engineering, with emphasis of microwave engineering, or RF engineering, or related.
• Experience with (ElectroMagnetic) EM tools such as HFSS and CST, and circuit simulation tools such as ADS, and other tools like MATLAB.
• EM theory or related background.
• Understanding of transmission line theory.
• Signal integrity is a plus
• PCB board design/layout is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills
• Interested in pursuing signal integrity careers after graduation.
• A team player.
