 Silicon Design Engineer 2 - Methodology

 

THE ROLE:

You will work with a world-wide team to develop and deploy various flows and advance methodology to help AMD's design team to achieve best design quality and productiveness. This involves not only use the best available solutions provided by industrial, but also developing the unique solution within AMD and help all project teams make use of them effectively. You will closely work with methodology experts in this group and reach out to a broad range of different design teams with the unique growing possibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overseas definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development
• Determines architecture design, logic design, and system simulation
• Defines module interfaces/formats for simulation
• Contributes to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits
• Evaluates all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use
• Analyzes equipment to establish operation data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results
• May also review vendor capability to support development

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiar with Unix/Linux and one or more of the coding skills, include but not limited to TCL, Ruby, Perl, Python
• Familiar with Verilog HDL coding and ASIC Frond-End implementation flow
• Experience with database technologies and database-driven custom web application development is a plus

 

 EDUCATIONAL CREDENTIALS:

• MS of EE/CE, or BS with 3 years of hands-on design verification experience in ASIC product development
