A co-op term with Intel of Canada's Intel Foundry Services group is a challenging but rewarding experience, allowing you to gain knowledge and experience in integrated circuit design and test, from chiplets to SoCs (system on chips). As a member of our team, you will work alongside experienced engineers to solve new and interesting problems, making an important contribution to our exciting custom silicon solutions.
The embedded system development position(s) for this listing is as follows:
Validation Hardware Engineer Co-op
Achieve hands-on experience supporting development of hardware platforms for validating Intel SoCs. You will work very closely with engineers on various phases of the board design process.
Key tasks you may perform in support of hardware development include:
- Document hardware architecture and design specifications.
- Engage with vendors and suppliers.
- Design circuits using schematic capture tools.
- Physical layout of PCBs (PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS).
- Document and perform board validation test.
Employees are encouraged to work remotely due to Covid-19, all new hire orientations will be done virtually. This is subject to change and employees deemed as essential workers may be required to work on-site.
Qualifications
We are looking for enthusiastic students with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, a desire to learn and a good general knowledge of embedded systems, analog and digital circuits, and testing methodology. Qualifications in the following areas are desired:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Relevant coursework/experience in circuits, and programming/scripting languages
- Knowledge of lab test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, soldering equipment)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of system hardware on an embedded system.
Job assignments will be based on available projects during the work term and on the skills and interests of the student.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$52,000.00-$147,000.00 (Hourly Role)

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
