The EPG Simics simulation team is responsible for delivering virtual platforms simulator for Intel's Ethernet networking hardware products. The simulation software team is crucial for shift-left initiatives and enables our software drivers, firmware and hardware to be designed and implemented early and in parallel through the Virtual Ethernet platform. Ethernet Virtual platform implements and integrates detailed functional simulations of computer network systems and Ethernet NIC hardware. Simics team consumes the Ethernet NIC system specifications of various sorts, analyzes them and then creates simulation models for them. The functional simulation models are developed iteratively with HW and SW design teams and the collaboration require good communication skills and the ability to quickly turn new requirements into new or enhanced simulation models. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with the Silicon architects/engineers, Driver Software architects/engineers and directly with large cloud customers/partners. You will have an excellent opportunity to influence various teams in Intel and shape the future Ethernet features in Intel platforms and Ethernet products.

In this role you will:

  • Direct and manage a team of software engineers and architects responsible for the development and/or validation of software for a specific Intel product segment or technology over multiple areas of the software lifecycle, including design, development, validation, debug, optimization, customer engagement, and/or product support
  • Oversee the development of software across multiple layers of the stack including firmware, drivers, operating systems, software applications and tools, infrastructure, and platforms
  • Provide direction and goals to the group to ensure efficient operation and sound engineering practices are followed and interacts with stakeholders internal and/or external to Intel
  • Set priorities for the team, achieves results across boundaries, ensures an inclusive work environment, develops employees, and manages performance


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study
  • 6+ Years of Proven Management or Technical Leadership experience in leading Virtual platform development, or Linux Ethernet driver or firmware development teams
  • Experience in IA and Embedded environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study
  • Experience of hands on driver and software development in networking field is desired
  • Experience with Ethernet and advanced Ethernet technologies, such as new and emerging Tunneling encapsulating protocols (VxLAN, NVGRE), eBPF, User mode networking and OpenVswitch/NSH development, etc.
  • Experience with Enterprise, Data Center and Cloud Markets and customers, related use cases and workloads

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
