Siemens Mobility are recruiting for Site Engineering professionals as part of our Military to Rail Programme. The Military to Rail programme offers service leavers and former military personnel the opportunity of a successful career within the rail industry. This is our third time running this highly successful programme and we are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to support your transition from the military into the Rail Industry. Applicants for these roles should be currently in the military or have left the military in the last 2 years. We have roles in the programme available nationwide. However, for some roles we may require you to be located within a geographical area or a commutable distance from a Site or Office. This will be discussed with you as part of the screening stage. Siemens Mobility Rail Infrastructure supplies railway markets the world over with solutions and turnkey installations for railway automation and telecommunication. Our customers are infrastructure operators and mainline railways all round the world as well as industrial railways and public transport authorities in cities and megacities. The Role: Line reporting to the Site Construction Manager, and functionally managed by the regional Installation Manager the Site Engineer will be responsible for site construction activities within the defined project. The construction community implements our market-leading products and solutions, providing a safe, cost efficient and timely realisation of complex solutions with appropriate quality and to budget, even in the face of challenging and evolving business cases, requirements, delivery mechanisms and other business drivers. What will be my Responsibilities? Gather and collate relevant information to help you organise installation activities, including site availability and access, operations and engineering notices, plans, schedules, procedures, diagrams, records and specifications, throughout the solution lifecycle from estimates to disposal. Identify potential deviations from allocated tasks and alter the plan as required within the limits of your own authority, ensuring alterations are recorded, reported, approved and their impact on the allocated tasks are monitored and controlled. Accurately identify tasks and their interdependence, ensuring work is organised in a logical order. The allocation of activities and responsibilities to staff according to their competencies. You will establish and maintain communications and effective liaison arrangements with relevant stakeholders, including team members, other teams, operations staff, engineering staff and peers. You will be aware of any environmental, health and safety requirements applicable to your assigned sites. You will be required to demonstrate your teams safe working practices throughout and you will understand the responsibility you owe to yourself and other in the rail environment. The Person: Site Engineer roles will be suitable to Junior Non-Commissioned Officers and above who have experience of military engineering, especially where this is field based. What Qualifications and Experience do I need for this role? This role would be suitable for those who have experience of military engineering, especially where this is field based. A natural leader of behavioural safety. Knowledge and experience of auditing and investigating is desirable, but training can be made available to the right candidate. Nationally recognised Leadership and management qualifications pursuant to Level 3 or military equivalent is desirable but training can be made available to the right candidate. Excellent IT, interpersonal, presentation, communication, organisational, time management and problem-solving skills. Full Driving licence. This will be discussed with you before offering you a place at the assessment centre. This assessment centre will take place at The National Rail Academy for Rail (NTAR) on 28th and 29th March 2023, with a targeted programme start date of 10th July 2023. Please make sure that you are available for these dates, as we do not know at this stage the time frame for future programmes. Upon successfully joining Siemens, you will undertake an intensive 6-week training period before moving into a permanent role within our Rail Infrastructure business. The roles on offer post training period are permanent positions and the pay and benefits associated with this role will be discussed with you at the offer stage.
