We are looking for a new member as Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our R&D team in Hong Kong. The SRE is responsible for supporting Harmonic VOS platform. VOS is Harmonic's next generation video delivery infrastructure operating in the clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure..etc) and on-premise environments.

In this role, you will work with a team of geographically diverse engineers to strive for high degrees of availability, performance, and capacity of VOS systems once deployed in the field. The team has the responsibility to monitor, investigate and improve customer systems in the field to keep them running and healthy. Communication and co-ordination skills are essential in this position as you will work with multiple teams in multiple time zones, and need to collaborate very closely with other R&D team members, support and field staff.

In particular for SRE Tools, successful candidates will be responsible for building monitoring and auto-recovery solution for highly scalable Cloud based services and systems, incorporating AI and machine learning to Full-stack Observability, qualifying innovative product within Harmonic’s comprehensive CI/CD automation and monitoring solution.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Build robust and scalable automation to manage and monitor cloud systems
• Improve reliability, availability and performance of the highly scaling cloud systems with recovery automation
• Plan and develop automated test for cloud-based products in agile development approach
• Research new technologies, techniques and 3rd party frameworks to benefit the automation

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related disciplines from a top-tier university

  • Strong experience in managing Cloud service (AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Networking (Ethernet Switching, IP Network)
  • Broadcast video systems (MPEG transports, Cable, satellite, IPTV)
