Job Description


In this internship, you will be working on research on electronic aspect of co-packaged optical I/O.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

  • Review Electronic IC (EIC) specifications and designs

  • Participate in design of EIC analog, digital, top level blocks

  • Build or enhance on a link model for parametrical evaluation of an electro-optical link

  • Plan on testing and characterization of the designed EIC

  • Documentation of the work throughout the internship

Length of internship: 6+ Months with the possibility to extend it as per business needs


Qualifications

You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
 

This is an entry level position and it will be compensated accordingly.


Minimum Requirements


The candidate must be pursuing a PhD or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with emphasis on PIC design and evaluation.

6+ months of experience in some of the following:

  • Photonic IC design or related courses.

  • PIC component design and layout such (couplers/waveguides/modulators).

  • Fiber and coupler component specifications and vendors.

  • Experience of electro-optical specifications for interfaces between a PIC and an electronic IC.


Preferred qualifications

6+ months of experience in some of the following:

  • Publication in PIC designs

  • Worked on ultra-high bandwidth (Tbps) optical I/O PIC architectures

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$52,000.00-$147,000.00
