The Software Application Engineer - Design and Validation Tools designs, develops, tests, and debugs software applications used by end users or integrated with other applications by ISV (Independent Software Vendors) partners. Development may span the full application stack including both frontend and backend application development.

This role requires:

• Using modern software development methodologies and programming languages, following secure coding practices and software legal compliance guidelines, analyzing user stories, writes both functional and test code, automating build and deployment, and performing unit integration and end-to-end testing of applications.
• Completing SDL (Security Development Life Cycle) tasks with the assistance of product security engineers and providing input to technical writers to complete product documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
• May also interact with end users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of total software development experience (including data structures, algorithm development and strong, debugging skills, coding standards, proper documentation, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations). This must include:
  • 2+ years C#, Python, and parallel programming.
  • 2+ years of database experience with SQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB.
  • 1+ years of experience building REST APIs and Web services.
  • 2+ years of experience with Git, tools such as JIRA, or being part of a SCRUM team.
• Advanced English level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Front-end development experience.
• Experience with developing high performance, multi-threaded and distributed software.
• Experience with server software setup, deployment, execution, compute load distribution, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Intel architecture and Intel platforms.
• Experience with XML, HTML, XSLT, and DITA formats.
