Job Summary Eaton’s Digital Office (EDO) is building the converged Brightlayer digital platform in the data center segment, one of the critical pillars in Eaton’s strategic Brightlayer initiative. Multiple Eaton software teams around the world, including but not limited to the teams in France, US, China, Israel, India, Ireland, are all active participants in this global effort. Each team brings its own expertise and talents in enterprise software development, hardware (electrical power equipment in particular), firmware, automation, and data science into creating this exciting digital foundation for Industry 4.0. Considering the data center technologies is always at the top of the technology pyramid, you will have a chance to work on and contribute to the development of the most cutting-edge technologies to power the data centers for the most important companies / industries in the world. Our global software teams practice highly effective and productive agile scrum methodology with Linux-development-alike global software development and collaboration. Job Responsibilities Lead software architecture design and guide implementation of the design for the Brightlayer data center platform with the Montbonnot team Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to ensure the developed software modules/components can meet the business requirements to reach or exceed the revenue target Evaluate business requirements to evaluate and determine potential technical solutions proactively and transparently Connect the Eaton Digital Office management team with the Montbonnot team on strategic initiatives, product vision, and technical direction Motivate the Montbonnot team to become a leading technical force in building the Brightlayer data center platform Facilitate effective resolutions for technical challenges by collaborating the Montbonnot team and the global software development teams Demonstrate new software/prototype implementation for internal team technical discussion. Document software architecture designs and key software interface/components Investigate new technologies and contribute to technology road-mapping and capacity planning activities as well as analyze requirements and use-cases Contribute in the data center segment architect council for advanced technical and reviews and discussions Mentor fellow team members on new technologies, architecture principles, and good coding practices. Qualifications Qualifications Preferred education level: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution. Years and area of experience required: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in enterprise software development Experience with enterprise software architecture design Fluent in both French and English Experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts. Technical knowledge: Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred 7+ years’ experience with enterprise software development Solid understanding of data center facility and IT technologies Good understanding for virtualization and IT automation technologies Ability to work effectively in an Agile Scrum (or other iterative development) environment Familiar with electrical power equipment and product lines Experience with data center operations and technologies Keep current with the latest technology trends. Soft skills: Effectively lead work and communicate within a global team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts Strong problem-solving skills with ability to think outside of the box Good at establishing strong business relationship among colleagues in different Eaton teams/locations Flexible to work with multiple time zones Abreast of upcoming software development/engineering tools, trends, and methodologies Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills Capable to maximize opportunities in code sharing and resource sharing to help to increase productivity/efficiency and reduce company costs Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision. #LI-AS1 Eaton is an intelligent power management company dedicated to improving the quality of life and protecting the environment for people everywhere.
