Join a thriving multi-site team of content engineers and UX experts working on both Intel and open-source software projects!
In this position, you will define and drive content strategy. Working with the team, you will develop and test documentation for Intel's Security Center of Excellence focused on Confidential Computing and other programs.
As a content engineer, you will be an integral part of a security software product development/release team and will contribute to open source and inner source repositories. Working with subject matter experts and exercising your own initiative, you will identify gaps in existing content and develop new technical content. By understanding product specifications and requirements, you will develop audience-appropriate content and identify or develop appropriate tools and workflows to enable software developers to easily understand and follow complex instructional content.
In addition to excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills, this position requires ability to comprehend and contribute to a highly complex and technial software product. You will test all content prior to publication by stepping through procedures and validating code samples, setting up the required hardware and software environment.
Qualifications
You must possess the minimum qualifications below to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in software engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, English, journalism, communications, technical writing/communications, or a related field. Applicants without a technical degree must demonstrate strong technical experience, skill, and aptitude.
Four or more years experience in software engineering or content development roles.
One year experience contributing to open-source projects using Linux command line-based editing and development tools.
Excellent English writing, editing, and review skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, international team environment.
Experience using open-source technologies such as GitHub, Sphinx, and re-StructuredText markup.
Experience installing and configuring operating systems (such as Ubuntu) and software packages using native tools (such as apt and pip).
Experience working with security technologies and building documentation related to technical security innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Competency in one or more scripting languages such as Python, bash, or JavaScript or knowledge of C/C++ or other programming languages.
Publishing experience with content management systems such as Drupal or Adobe Experience Manager.
Familiarity with DITA XML-based publishing and experience publishing to the web from DITA source.
Experience working with cloud-based solutions (e.g. Microsoft Azure).

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$113,500.00-$170,120.00

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
