Eaton’s Commercial and Residential Division is seeking a Talented Software Delivery Manager. This position can be based at our Peachtree City, GA or Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh) sites. Relocation assistance will be provided. Eaton is revolutionizing power management through smart home and smart building solutions. Position Overview: The Connected Solutions team has an opening for a Software Delivery Manager. The Software Delivery Manager is a critical role responsible for guiding and managing the product development process of a team as well as guiding and executing the software delivery strategy for the broader multi-team environment. This role will have split responsibility both as a manager of people and an individual contributor. As a Software Delivery Manager, you will have a small team of software developers reporting to you, and you will be responsible for helping our project teams maintain a high level of productivity while also ensuring that they clearly define and meet the vision of our product owners. You will work closely with developers, designers, architects, project managers, and marketing team members to find innovative solutions that balance technical requirements, user needs, and business objectives. You will provide mentorship to direct reports, set individual and team goals, and provide strategic direction and growth within the software team. In this function you will: Manage a small team of software developers providing mentorship, resource planning, and development Provide strategic guidance for technical roadmaps and broader software delivery strategy Work directly with stakeholders and software teams to deliver high quality solutions Understand and evaluate business needs and requirements in order to provide innovative, competitive solutions which provide value to the stakeholders Work and thrive in an agile environment Work with stakeholders and technical leads to define high-level product vision Define and track release plans, feature prioritization, and high-level project milestones Create, prioritize, and maintain a backlog of user stories, soliciting input from stakeholders and project team members where necessary Understand and triage tasks and issues and prioritize according to criticality Work with stakeholders and team members to plan user testing and validation Identify project risks and work with appropriate stakeholders to mitigate Monitor and plan team capacity and make adjustments as project needs change Coordinate schedules and logistics for team meetings, events, and agile ceremonies Take lead on identifying and addressing conflicts or issues within teams Try to prevent and work to remove any blockers for the team Work with teams to implement and improve scrum/agile processes based on individual project needs Cultivate open relationships with various stakeholders, identifying and addressing concerns before they grow into problems When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required Three (3) years of software project/product management experience Two (2) years of experience leading and managing a team Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside of a 50-mile radius of Peachtree City, GA or Moon Township, PA. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Experience working in an Agile environment Experience facilitating meetings and workshops with stakeholders Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain and convey technical concepts Extensive experience and proven record utilizing software best practices and adapting to emerging technology trends and methodologies Experience making solid product decisions on projects given project constraints and best practices Strong ability to drive for results and take initiative even when requirements may be vague or undefined Strong problem solving and reasoning ability, exhibiting technical innovation and creative solutions Familiarity with agile design, technical, and project management practices and tools Leadership and team management including teaching and mentoring where appropriate Process creation and improvement Experience with human-centered design process and practices, design thinking, and user research concepts Effective at building trust and relationships with stakeholders and project team members Self-starter with time management and prioritization skills across short-term and long-term time horizons Able to navigate complex decision making Experience with various agile and backlog management tools such as Atlassian/Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub or similar Position Criteria: Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probes all fruitful sources for answers, can see hidden problems, is excellent at honest analysis Looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answers Strategic Agility – sees ahead clearly; can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately, has broad knowledge and perspective; can create competitive and breakthrough strategies & plans.
