The System Software and Simulation Engineering (S3E) team within the Software and Advanced Technologies Group is driving software first strategy at Intel through early robust system simulators. We are transforming the way our product firmware and software is developed and simulated on a modern cloud computing environment. We deliver an integrated functional, performance, power, and thermal simulation several quarters before first silicon. We are looking for passionate software engineers that want to get hands on experience developing hardware models in a continuous delivery environment.

This role responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:

• Working together with a group of experienced engineers to extend the Simics simulator capabilities and model correctness.
• Simulator features design, prototyping, implementation, and maintenance, support of new server CPU & platform architectures.
• Carry out competitive performance analysis, root causing and bug resolution including customer bugs.
• Working with Intel software and hardware design engineers and architects to deliver the next generation server platform designs.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following skills/traits:

• Software development and software engineering knowledge and the ability to architect an end-to-end solution.
• Knowledge on software data structures, algorithms, and software engineering practices.
• Computer architecture, digital circuits, and microcontroller architecture.
• Assembly language.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job.

 Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor graduate or very advanced student, Lic or Masters' degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering or related.
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux and good programming skills (C,C++, Python).
• English (Intermediate - 70%) as you will need to communicate with different GEOs
• Candidate must have unrestricted permanent right to work in Costa Rica

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GIT, Jenkins build system.
• SOC architecture, System domains knowledge.
• Firmware, Windows or Linux kernel
