Conducts experiments and analyze large data to measure and improve performance of algorithms by incorporating accurate heuristics and techniques. Designs, develops and optimizes complete software systems using scientific analysis. Modifies existing software to correct critical errors in real customers. Interacts with other teams like marketing and customer support to obtain information on functional requirements and priorities for new features. Interacts with team leads and other engineers to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Conceptualizes projects and functional specifications based on feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Interacts with QA to develop feature specific testing and validation procedures to ensure quality of results Job Qualifications The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience: BS degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or related field is required. MS or PhD is preferred. Must have at least 5 years of professional Software Engineering with C and C++ on UNIX and/or LINUX platforms. (MS degree with 3 years of professional experience or PhD degree with < 1 year will be considered). Some computational geometry experience is strongly preferred Machine Learning experience is strongly preferred. Experience with tensorflow/sklearn is preferred. Experience in OPC / RET areas are preferred. Individuals with strong ability to learn and explore new technologies and who are able to demonstrate good analysis and problem solving skills are preferred. Must have the ability to collaborate closely with other members of the team and develop critical components consistently and in a timely manner.
