Software Development Engineer
In this role, you have the opportunity to:
Plan, own and participate in projects to support embedded software in our released product line
Investigate customer complaints and device failures as they may relate to the embedded software
Ownership of our software process, templates and practices
Design and develop process and practice improvements in accordance with the corporate Software Center of Excellence initiatives
Evaluate, select and validate new or improved software development tools
Secondary Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in the full development cycle of embedded software including requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and documentation
Create products according to the specifications and software development process
Create engineering documentation to comply with product development policies, practices and procedures
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
BS/MS/PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Working knowledge of embedded application development, testing, and deployment of the application on custom hardware/devices
Working knowledge of C and C++ Working knowledge of real time systems
Good understanding of, and interest in, development of software in a controlled regulated environment
Understanding of Object Oriented concepts
4+ years working experience
Key Knowledge, skills and abilities desired:
Medical device industry experience
IEC 62304 familiarity or other software standards
Med device white box level testing experience
Hard and Soft Real Time requirements, scheduling and analysis.
Test automation software tools
