About The role We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our automation platform development team in Amberg. As part of this team, you will work on the data driven automation platform of the future in a startup like environment. We work in small agile teams consisting of Software Development- and Test Engineers, Software Architect and Product Owner. As a team we collaborate with other teams spread worldwide. In your role as Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible in designing and implementing software that meets functionality, usability, reliability, performance, and supportability requirements. Software development in this area allows us to learn cutting-edge technologies, which we then use in experiments and innovation initiatives. Area of Responsibilities As Software Development Engineer (f/m/d) you design, develop and maintain features on a real-time system environment In addition, you analyze problems, locate bottlenecks and propose a range of viable solutions. You collaborate with other developers as needed to manage interdependencies of the project tasks, product and flow integration issues. You participate in reviews and/or inspections of designs, specifications, and code. Working with QA to meet the quality requirements needed for the products is also part of your tasks. You write functional specifications and design documentation. Your Qualifications You hold a master’s degree in computer science or Software Engineering In addition, you have at least 3-5 years of experience with Software programming using C++ as well as with agile development methods and CI/CD pipelines You have experience in Unix/Linux operating system environments. Knowledge of development for real-time environments is a plus You have highly developed communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and share your knowledge with others. Personally, you convince us with your ability to work independently without supervision as well as your team player attitude. You have good verbal and written German and English skills.
