Eaton’s Energy Automation Solutions business is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team. This position is a REMOTE opportunity. Position Overview: We are looking for a professional experienced in creating robust test automation solutions to efficiently deliver high-quality solutions. As an SDET Engineer, you will work with your colleagues to design, develop and maintain automated and exploratory test solutions for effective and efficient test execution. Our applications utilize a range of Web, API, and database interfaces built using a mix of leading proprietary and open-source technology. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing test automation solutions to keep pace with fast-paced Agile code delivery and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. You will also work with Product Owners, and application and embedded software developers to produce creative and impactful system-level exploratory tests representative of customer workflows. In this role you will: Design, develop, and implement automated tests using Selenium WebDriver, POM, TestNG, and Java in accordance with enterprise standards within development and operational guidelines. Document and execute system-level exploratory tests on application and embedded software solutions. Perform reviews of automation tests, and present the results to project teams. Collaborate as part of the Scrum team in reviewing requirements, grooming user stories and creating acceptance criteria. Develop in-depth system and application knowledge to maximize test quality and coverage. Share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to staff, business sponsors, managers, and technical resources in clear, concise language appropriate to the target audience. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Demonstrate experience developing software using Java/JavaScript, C#. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. This is a remote opportunity. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum 2 years of hands-on coding experience in any one of the following: Java, C#, .NET, C++, Python. Minimum of 2 years of experience with Agile methodologies. Experience developing automated tests or combination of development in Java/.NET and test automation experience using Selenium WebDriver. Experience with Acceptance Test Driven Development. Hands-on experience on test automation of RESTful APIs. Proven application of proactive and exploratory testing methodologies. Proficient with developer tools and IDEs, such as Eclipse and Git. Experience working in a CI/CD environment like Jenkins or Bamboo for executing automated tests in a pipeline.
