This position is for a Software Development Engineering Manager, in the Manufacturing and Product Engineering, MPE, within the Design Engineering Group, DEG.

In this role, you will be expected to be a part of a global product development engineering team in developing Sort test programs and software to enable Intel's product roadmap on lead process technologies. As a manager, you will set priorities for the team, get results across boundaries, ensure an inclusive work environment, develop employees and manage performance.

You will be responsible for product plans and planning resources for and directing activities in engineering function to meet schedules, standards, and cost; cultivating and reinforcing appropriate group values, norms and behaviors; identifying and analyzing problems, plans, tasks, and solutions; providing guidance on employee development, performance, and productivity issues; planning and scheduling daily tasks, uses judgement on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.

In this role, team responsibilities include, although not limited to:

  • Ensures the testability and manufacturability of integrated circuits from the component feasibility stage through production ramp.

  • Makes significant contributions to design, development and validation of testability circuits.

  • Evaluates, develops and debugs of complex test methods.

  • Develops and debugs complex software programs to convert design validation vectors and drive complex test equipment.

  • Creates and tests validation and production test hardware solutions.

  • Tests, validates, modifies and re-design circuits to guarantee component margin to specification.

  • Analyzes and evaluates component specification versus performance to ensure optimal match of component requirements with production equipment capability with specific emphasis on yield analysis and bin split capability.

  • Analyzes early customer returns with emphasis on driving test hole closure activities.

  • Creates and applies concepts for optimizing component production relative to both quality and cost constraints.

  • Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

  • Performs evaluation, development, and debug of new test methods and methodologies.

  • Develops test program flows, working with the module owners and senior test program architecture PDE to build test program from definition, through integration and validation, to release in HVM environment.

  • Develops and debugs software tools to support sort/class test program development.

  • Solid participation and active contribution to global working groups dedicated to identifying and meeting current and future test challenges.

  • Statistical analysis of tested parameters and working with partner organizations to define optimal sort/class test pass/fail criteria.

  • Provides debug support, working with module/content owners on the tester platform.

  • Data analysis and deployment of solutions to improve test coverage, yield, hardware capacity, and other product health indicators.

  • Keen attention to details, with a conscious focus towards efficiency and convergence via sort/class test methodologies, standardization, and proliferation of best practices across products and product segments.

  • Problem solving with sound logical thinking and analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 6+ years of experience .

OR

Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ years of experience in:

  • Software background and programming skills, such as C++, C Sharp, Perl, Python, any scripting language.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Semiconductor device physics, fundamentals of testing, digital electronics principles, microprocessor basics, basics of VLSI design, assembly language programming, computer architecture, data structures, statistical data analysis.

  • Logic device testing at wafer sort/packaged parts.

  • Exposure to high volume manufacturing.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
