Job Description
Job Summary Eaton is seeking a registered attorney to provide our digital business partners with counseling on digitalization, software, and technology topics, as well as some day to day commercial matters. As a member of the Eaton legal team, this attorney will provide high-quality legal counsel to support our digital office and strategic digital focused businesses as they grow and develop their offering within Eaton, including negotiation of commercial agreements, counsel on digital, software, and technology legal issues, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and outside counsel. Job Responsibilities - The ideal candidate will be a commercial generalist with advanced software / digital contracting skills, who will contribute to, and support implementation of, the strategic and operational approaches in the Energy Transition & Digital Division and software and digital related businesses. - Experience with multi jurisdictional transactions and software contracting is essential. Post acquisition integration experience is desirable. Other languages are desirable but not essential. Experience with reviewing, drafting, negotiating and closing a broad range of technology agreements, including security product and service transactions of all kinds, on premise software licensing, SaaS and other cloud transactions, technology, hardware purchases, professional services, maintenance and support arrangements. Provide negotiation and drafting support of outbound contracts and license, SaaS and professional services transactions to the business as required. Provide legal support for various go to market endeavors, such as web selling and SaaS within the business Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: - Law Degree in a US or European jurisdiction. Years and area of experience required: - Minimum of 7 years post qualification experience with recent experience in Digital areas of contract law. Technical knowledge: - Advanced knowledge and desire to continue building knowledge in the digital contracts space. Soft skills: - Low ego and roll sleeves up attitude; demonstrated leadership abilities; effective member of a highly functioning team. - Sound strategic thinking and business counsel. - Strong communication skills. - Open collaborative approach with business partners, executives, and legal teammates. - Ability to provide legal support to the leadership, business and legal teams. - Ability to manage complex professional relationships across the globe, working in a large established and matrixed law team. - Possesses a global view; ability to dig deep into details to meet internal and external customer needs. - Balances necessity to use influence to drive difficult decisions with understanding when additional investigation is required. - Excellent spoken and written communications skills and the ability to adapt the message to effectively share information with internal and external stakeholders. - Genuinely enjoys the practice of law and hard work attached to it; naturally inquisitive and demonstrates tenacity when working on complex projects with a range of individuals with varying skill set levels. - Eager to take on leadership initiatives and challenging opportunities. - Fluency in written and spoken English.
