Role Summary:

SDL Cloud Engineering are a fast-paced, globally distributed team of Engineers providing a constantly evolving suite of services. We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with significant experience automating manual processes using a combination of scripting languages and technologies, to expand our existing team. We are looking for a highly analytical and articulate individual to work as part of a busy team delivering core capabilities to the business and collaborating very closely with SDL development teams. The successful candidate will thrive in a challenging environment where they will be required to create testable automation processes using Chef, Powershell, Python and other scripting languages, to ensure reliable and repeatable deployment in our SaaS environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify manual processes and automate using a variety of scripting languages such as Powershell, Python or Ruby.
• Act as a subject matter expert for configuration management tools on Microsoft Windows Server, specifically Chef.
• Act as a mentor and advocate within the Cloud Engineering group for Chef and automation, and ensure this knowledge is disseminated effectively throughout the teams, through the use of 1:1 and group-based training.
• Be an advocate for, and liaise closely with the wider Cloud Engineering group for the stability, maintainability, performance and uptime of the service.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

• [Mandatory] Azure DevOps, MS Build, CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience in Deploying and maintaining Complex .Net Application including .Net Core.
• Experience with Jenkins.
• Experience in leveraging REST APIs for third party integrations.
• Experience in Windows Administration.
• Proven ability in developing PowerShell code and Modules for automation.
• Experience with Continuous Integration technologies.
• A working understanding of code and script (.NET, Powershell, bash).
• Experience of working in a test-oriented Development environment.
• Experience with administering and developing against Microsoft SQL Server and other databases.
• Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and related technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc

Desirable

• Experience working in a commercial hosting environment.
• Experience of working in an ITIL environment is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services or a similar Public Cloud Provider.
• JIRA/ServiceNow (Or similar ticketing/IT Management application).

Qualifications and pre-requisite

Essential:

B.E/B.Tech/MCA degree or equivalent work experience.
