The Global Services team (GLOBAL) is quickly becoming the One Microsoft team for ensuring we consistently release high quality localized products to all our global customers. Our live services are used today by Windows, Office, Exchange, Skype, Xbox etc to localize client and web application strings as well as online content. That's most of the localization needs for the entire company on our shared localization systems. Our localization platforms are depended on for over 90% of Microsoft's localization needs.
As a result, the opportunity and need to expand, improve, and modernize our services and processes is bigger than ever. Our services will have to scale to support the entire company and provide visibility and deep insights into system performance, health, and throughput. Additionally, these services will need to be architected in a way that can expand to the growing needs of the localization ecosystem both inside and eventually outside the company.

• Collaborate in the design and development of globally distributed systems to enhance customer experience
• Helping evolve development guidelines, practices & principles for a world where services development & delivery is moving faster than ever
• Designing resilient and easily maintainable engineering solutions
• Continuously championing Agile Methodologies to continuously release and deploy iterations of our engineering services
• Fostering a data driven approach to everything we do
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you'll probably have:
• 2+ years of experience designing, building & releasing engineer / product solutions
• Excellent collaboration skills, able to effectively talk through designs and incorporate feedback
• Experience in designing & architecting scalable cloud services
• A natural passion & drive for engineering excellence and code maintainability.
• An ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Design and implementation of high scale and resilient systems
• Flexible attitude; natural curiosity & passion for learning
• Customer focused & data driven
Necessary skills include:
• Proficiency in any object-oriented language - C#, Java, etc
• Proficiency with back-end technologies - windows / web services, VM’s,
• Proficiency with cloud tech - infrastructure as a service or applications as a service
• Proficiency with SQL and Data access technologies
• Proficiency in scalable service design and implementation
