Job Summary We are currently building world class service solutions for our customers. Our aim is to provide the best Service and Connected solutions software for Eaton Vehicle Group customers. A key part of this solution is delivering customer facing applications utilizing the latest technologies in software development, cloud, big data, and IoT from Microsoft and other partners. As a Software Engineer in this position, you will be integrated into an experienced software development team working on a world class set of software applications, responsible for software design and creation, bug fixes, process improvement, writing unit tests and documentation. Our software is primarily built on the .NET stack and ranges from PC based to Azure Cloud applications, and everything in-between. Essential Duties Proficiency coding in an Object Oriented Language (OOP), preferably C# Write high-quality, clean, logical, highly-performing code Adopt test-driven development and agile practices Demonstrate and document solutions by using flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, code snippets, and performance instruments Provide work estimates and participate in code reviews Maintain job knowledge by studying software development techniques and programming languages. Work with test teams to ensure adequate and appropriate test case coverage; investigate and fix bugs; create automated test scripts. Qualifications Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • Four-year accredited degree. • 1-3 years minimum of software engineering experience. • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. • Relocation is not available for this position. Candidates must be within a 50-mile radius of posted Eaton location (s) to be considered for this role. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: •Computer Science degree preferred. • 2-5 years of software engineering experience. •Relevant experience with Microsoft development technologies - development experience with Microsoft Azure a plus. •Development experience in Microsoft technologies, development experiences with Microsoft Azure a plus. •Knowledge in Java or C# and associated IDE’s (Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc.) •Write high-quality, clean, logical, highly performing code •Provide work estimates and participate in code reviews •Maintain job knowledge by studying software development techniques and programming languages. •Work with test teams to ensure adequate and appropriate test case coverage; investigate and fix bugs; create automated test scripts. •Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and programming skills, including the use of design patterns; ability to work with multi-layered, loosely-coupled, service-oriented libraries and applications. •Knowledge about applying modern agile software development practices such as SCRUM •Knowledge of CI/CD concepts, tools, and technologies •Familiarity with User Interface Design and User Experience (UI/UX) concepts •Experience with backlog management, familiarity with VSTS is a plus •Experience with RESTful APIs and Web based data structures such as JSON is a plus Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
