Join our Smart Infrastructure Division as a Software Engineer to help us reimagine the world by finding solutions and making the world a smarter place for tomorrow. Our team works within the Electrification and Automation group, designing Power System Protection devices for the electrical supply industry. We are based in Hebburn, near Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, but we are part of a global R&D group, with locations in Germany, China, India, and Vienna. Areas of Responsibility: •Delivery of new embedded software developments and PC tools for the power transmission and distribution networks. •Planning, design, development and documentation of embedded microprocessor firmware. •Development of automated test systems and completion of system integration testing. •Co-operate with international development teams across different business units within the Siemens group. What skills and experience you will bring to the role: •A Software Engineering related degree, with 2/3 years' experience in embedded firmware development. •Demonstrable experience with C/C++/C#, plus any experience with one or more of .NET / XML / HTML / Java Script. Any Windows software development would be a benefit, however not essential. •Software design knowledge using an object-oriented methodology and an agile design approach. •You are a good communicator with the ability to present ideas and results and have good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
