How will you make an impact?
In general this individual must be skilled in the art of and experienced in the practice of software engineering. The engineer must also be proficient in the general responsibilities of product development, including the proper planning and execution of product development and test schedules. You will work closely with team members in applying Software Engineering principles to the development of X-ray or electromagnetic product inspection machine software for new or existing products.

How will you make an impact?
In general this individual must be skilled in the art of and experienced in the practice of software engineering. The engineer must also be proficient in the general responsibilities of product development, including the proper planning and execution of product development and test schedules. You will work closely with team members in applying Software Engineering principles to the development of X-ray or electromagnetic product inspection machine software for new or existing products.
What will you do?
- Develop new software or enhancements for machines that attempt to detect contaminants or irregularities in packages, bulk product, and/or rolls of materials for the Food Safety or Web Gauging industries on a production line.
- Develop and/or update user interfaces for software features using Microsoft Visual Studio or Qt tools.
- Create new algorithms to find irregularities or verify the presence of objects in electromagnetic signals or images representing products.
- Develop real time control software for Embedded Linux and Windows systems or real-time operating systems.
- Write Object Oriented C++, C# and C software to control proprietary embedded controller systems that perform typical industrial automation tasks.
- Software debug, hardware/software integration, and verification testing
- Adhere to configuration management practices for code development, testing, release and revisions
- Work with the technical writer to develop relevant portions of the product user manual.
Education:
- BSCS or BSCE, image processing or signal processing analysis specialization highly desired.
- Experienced in software design development from concept phase through product release.
- Five years of experience with all of the technologies mentioned in the “What will you do?” section, especially the fifth bullet.
- An understanding of and experience in basic electronics and electro-magnetics is highly desired.
- Ideal candidate would also have good experience developing for typical embedded processors
- Ability to work alone or as a design team member
- Ability to learn new tools and methodologies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
