Microsoft Azure Storage is a highly distributed, massively scalable, and ubiquitously accessible cloud storage system. Azure storage already runs at Exascale (storing Exabytes of data) and we will scale our designs over the next decade to support Zettascale (storing Zettabytes of data).

Within Azure Storage, the Ultra Disk team provides a next-generation block storage platform for the most demanding cloud storage workloads. If delivering the fastest available block storage platform in the cloud using cutting edge technology sounds interesting, we may have the job for you!

Responsibilities

We are looking for engineers who are passionate about distributed storage and want to work on a fast-paced team with talented engineers.

To be successful in this area you must thrive while solving challenges related to durability, availability, and concurrency while serving millions of requests per second. You will have an opportunity to make high impact changes on a daily basis as you build a hyperscale storage system that may indirectly or directly be used daily by your friends and family.

The specific role for this position is to design and build features to configure, manage and deploy our new high-speed, low-latency storage service to our fleets of servers as well as building tools to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair any problems detected.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 6+ months professional experience in developing in languages such as C#, Java or C/C++

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python), web development (Typescript, Angular, RxJS, CSS), and ML/AI  is a plus
• Excellence in software engineering practices, coding and solid foundation in data structures, algorithms with strong testing, debugging and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with multi-threaded programming
• Experience in data storage systems, file systems, and/or networking
• Experience developing distributed systems

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
