The Visual Text Intelligence team in the Cognition Vision team is driving research and development for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and innovative document understanding solutions. OCR is a long standing and well-recognized computer vision area but is recently infused with the latest machine learning (ML) technologies such as deep learning. Some of our products includes OCR APIs and Form Recognizer APIs, which are the backbone of highly-demanded RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solutions in the enterprise.

Responsibilities

The team is growing fast, and we are looking for talented people who have solid engineering background, and love to develop innovations that can be deployed to millions of users worldwide. Join us to:

• Provide strong technical expertise in turning ideas into high-quality services from architecture, design, implementation, quality and telemetry.
• Deliver performant code in Linux and Windows to provide high quality application on time and in high quality.
• Collaborate with world-class researchers to convert state-of-art AI algorithms into Azure services. Even if you are not familiar with machine learning you will be learning it at work.
• Collaborate with groups across Microsoft as well as with external partners.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experiences of proficient coding skills (especially in modern C/C++ or C#).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Science or related field.
• Machine learning knowledge is not required but knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow, computer vision, NLP, or related areas would be a plus.
