Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO&I) group is looking for a Software Engineer to design and develop software / hardware solutions to automate the measurement and validation of data components and interconnected systems within a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters.  Our infrastructure supports than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities

The core deliverables for this position will include:

• Contribute to automation solutions that help the global team scale while improving safety and quality
• Write clean, well thought out code with an emphasis on quality, simplicity, and maintainability
• Consider customer’s perspective and experiences when designing systems
• Leverage and contribute to application frameworks, design patterns, and engineering systems
• Understand and adapt to new technologies, tools, methods / processes from Microsoft and industry

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in software development role
• Strong object-oriented design, test automation, and component development skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in architecting, monitoring, and improving large scale distributed systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent

 Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Actor Framework, GIT and agile development
• Experience with distributed systems, performance analysis, databases, and/or large-scale data processing systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms is preferred
• Experience designing, testing or operating Data Centers, Pharmaceutical, Precision Manufacturing systems
• Proficiency in C#, Linux, and Python is desired
• Excellent technical design, problem solving and debugging skills
• Knowledge of .NET, C# and associated toolsets / frameworks
• Good written and oral communication skills
