Microsoft Azure is an industry leader in IoT with the introduction of Azure IoT and Azure IoT Central, providing comprehensive solutions that span devices, device management, gateways, advanced analytics, and command & control functionality.

The is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the Azure IoT Solutions team working on Azure IoT Central, a SaaS product that lowers the entry bar for building IoT Solutions. We are looking for candidates that can contribute to a team of highly experienced web developers building performant and elegant user experiences. You will be working with engineering peers to deliver on a Product Backlog that is tuned to satisfy customer needs and move the IoT Industry forward. We incorporate user research studies and customer feedback into the Product Backlog on a daily basis. We are an agile team that ships daily.

Responsibilities

We value high quality design, user stats and compliance. Your role includes contributing to our codebase and moving the quality bar higher and higher for both code and user experience. You will be passionate about standards and best practices, and be willing to provide technical leadership for junior developers on the team. You are always thinking about performance and how to make the user experience better.

The stack is React (Hooks), CSS3, HTML5, TypeScript, Node/Express and we use www architectures patterns such as Server-Side Events and Web Workers. Experience in these technologies is not essential if you are familiar with other web technologies such as Asp.Net, Rails and Angular/SPA. You should be familiar with distributed system architecture patterns and coding against restful services.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams across Azure IoT
• Working on large features from inception to release
• Providing technical expertise

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have the following:

• Minimum of 4 years technical engineering experience
• Be familiar with web UX/UI based technologies
• Experience building large scale and high availability systems
• Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

Desired experience:

• Use of open source technologies
• Experience building solutions on Azure
• Experience with distributed programing and microservices

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
