What you will do

In this vital role you will work with the Global Commercial Operations Digital Technology and Innovation (GCO DTI) Product Team that develops Mobile applications, Software-as-a-Medical-Device (SaMD), and other software products. This role works in collaboration with the Product Owner, Development Team, Commercial Business Units, Digital Quality and Innovation organizations, as well as internal IT teams.

• Develop new products and enhancements demonstrating technologies, including but not limited to AWS EMR, Spark, Kafka, and other supporting AWS Services like Lambda, SNS, SQS, Glue, Airflow, Athena etc. Expert knowledge of the Serverless framework for AWS
• Ensure compliance, update and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Advanced programming experience in Node.js and the NPM ecosystem.
• Possess strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, Change/Release Management.
• Proven ability to learn new programming languages and third-party platforms as required.
• Proven expertise in architecting, developing multi-tier internet facing APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Strong backend programming skills for data processing and metrics building, with practical knowledge of availability, scalability, clustering, microservices, multi-threaded development and performance patterns.
• Develop automation scripts for efficient deployment and operations of cloud environments. Experience using orchestration tools like AirFlow, Digital.ai or equivalent.
• Experience developing ETL data pipelines, and performance tuning them.
• Participate in code review, effort estimations, design sessions, Agile ceremonies.
• Develops backend documentation and training around processes, newly implemented technologies, and strategies in the Agile product delivery model.
• Provide analysis to mobile platform roadmaps with inputs from important partners in business and technology teams.
• Work with multi-functional partners, development teams, commercial, vendors, operations, sales marketing, legal, safety.
• Follow Amgen’s governance processes, procedures, specifications, design controls, and applicable compliance standards and guidance documents.
• Be a leader for change and process improvements.
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to quickly adjust in a dynamic environment, manage multiple releases at the same level of detail.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with peers, internal partners, external partners, and executive management.
• Expert understanding of Agile: Scrum, SAFe.
• Expert in Microsoft Office, Excel, Jira, Confluence, Test tool (ALM, Digital.ai), Tableau, Firefox, GitLab, Jenkins.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Or

Associate’s degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on experience but not limited to Lambda/function tracing, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Log retention, IAM, Security upgrades, CloudFront, Node.js, Java, Serverless framework, API Gateway, API Configuration, Dynamo DB, Cognito, SES, WAF, CMK/SNS encryption, Dev Ops, CI/CD.
• Basic AWS certifications required, advanced AWS certification a plus.
• SAFe Practitioner or any Agile certifications a plus.
• Collaborate with Mobile team, engineers, vendors and Product Owner on feature requirements, documentation, development, testing – integrations, SSL certificate pinning, dashboards, monitoring, API, AWS infrastructure, etc.
• Design, develop, maintain and test Embark APIs and business logic on the server application.
• Become a subject matter expert with our Mobile Applications Team and support our product development lifecycle while aligning with both internal and external regulations as applicable to a Software-as-a-Medical-Device (SaMD).
• Proven ability of working in software product management teams and driving the SDLC from a backend engineer role.
• Prior experience in refining user stories and user requirements in web, native and hybrid mobile apps for iOS and Android platforms as part of an Agile product team.
• Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the best outcome for users.
