We are the Customer Focused Engineering (CFE) team in COSINE Servicing and Delivery (CSD) organization. We deliver updates to every Windows-based device in the world to protect users and enable them to be productive. While Security remains our primary focus, we also enable our commercial and enterprise customers by enabling new device support, addressing reliability and upgrade blocking issues. Our work is critical for the Windows family of devices (PCs, Phones, and Servers), SurfaceHub, Hololens, Azure and more. We are an agile team and ship twice every month, impacting over a billion Windows devices in the ecosystem. We are a global engineering team, and you will collaborate with your partner teams in India, Ireland and Canada.
The DASH team in CFE is responsible for the Developer Platform, inbox Applications & Shell in Windows. Our team is also investing in engineering initiatives to improve security as well as controlled servicing rollouts. We are looking for a highly motivated software engineer to help design and deliver quality software updates and bug-free code. You will play a key role developing software for keeping our customer base secure, improving the reliability of the platform, addressing customer reported issues, building data insights, and developing features to light up new scenarios and devices in the Windows ecosystem. Responsibilities
The role requires:
- Working on Feature areas and Servicing areas by working on the latest release and servicing releases of Windows
- Reproducing and debugging customer-reported problems
- Fixing externally found security vulnerabilities and all the variants you can find
- Crafting high-quality bug-free fixes with minimum application compatibility risk
- Prioritizing your collection of work and delivering fixes in a timely fashion to meet deadlines
- Working collaboratively with Support and Escalation Engineers to test and verify your fixes in customer environments
- Finding ways to improve product/tools/processes for long-term benefit
Qualifications
Qualifications for this position include:
- 4+ years of development experience working on all phases of a development cycle
- Programming skills in C#, C++ or equivalent
- Creative problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Critical and innovative thinking skills
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
